Research into teaser trailers

Throughtout this project. I have been working with Holly Killick, Christopher Ogori and Naseem Begum.
To develop our understanding on teaser trailers and learn more about the coventions, we watched a variety on youtube.com and imbd.com. We watched Toy Story 3, The Dark Knight and 2012. From this we discovered that most teaser trailers are significantly shorter than your regular trailer, they create an enigma and suspense, allowing the audience to raise questions about the film and to be eager to want to keep an eye out for the trailer. We noticed that different genre determine how the teaser trailer is presented amd what it consists of. For example Toy Story 3 didnt show what the actual film was about and just showed the characters this could of been them not completing the film. this makes the audience realise what the film is due to seeing previous Toy Story films. However the teaser trailer for 2012 based on just the setting and soundtrack to create suspense and get a feel of the atmosphere. both teaser trailers created an enigma through lack of storyline and narrative.
