With our two film and teaser trailer ideas we decided to go into a year 13 sociology class and pitch our ideas and see what type of feeddback we recieve. This is to help us know whether our idea is going to be a succesful and what changes we could do to have a better result.
Film: The list
Feedback
'The film sounds like a good idea and it should attract viewers' - Ra'aesha and Jordan
'Good idea but it is too similar to Final Destination...also how owuld the killings occur ?' - Nathan
'Good trailer idea but not a good idea for a film'...It should be a 18 certifcate film as 15 will not attract people' - Rianne and Lorisha
'Goood suspense for a film, and sounds like a good idea' - Jack
Film: Sweat
Feedback
'People can relate to it, especially people our age as it is more realistic unlike the first idea' - Ashley
'It is good to see how the guy acheives his goal' - Danielle
'It will be a good idea as we can see how financial suppposrt can help people pursue their goals and how much people value opportunities' -Yama
Overall we had both positive and negitive opinions on both trailers and narratives, however they also helped us. Looking at the review we recieved, as a group we deciced to stay with our first idea; The List. We feel this teaser trailer will be more successful and fits within the time limit we have.

Research into teaser trailers
Throughtout this project. I have been working with Holly Killick, Christopher Ogori and Naseem Begum.
To develop our understanding on teaser trailers and learn more about the coventions, we watched a variety on youtube.com and imbd.com. We watched Toy Story 3, The Dark Knight and 2012. From this we discovered that most teaser trailers are significantly shorter than your regular trailer, they create an enigma and suspense, allowing the audience to raise questions about the film and to be eager to want to keep an eye out for the trailer. We noticed that different genre determine how the teaser trailer is presented amd what it consists of. For example Toy Story 3 didnt show what the actual film was about and just showed the characters this could of been them not completing the film. this makes the audience realise what the film is due to seeing previous Toy Story films. However the teaser trailer for 2012 based on just the setting and soundtrack to create suspense and get a feel of the atmosphere. both teaser trailers created an enigma through lack of storyline and narrative.

Feedback:
George - "I liked your idea of the way your title will be repsented at the end of the trailer".
Mr Marcus - he edited our idea of just having the scratching sound effect in the room where it was happening. He believed it would work as a continuous irritating sound throughout the trailer, only quiter.
Joy - "I like the narrative, the idea of the child being bullied and discovering supernatural powers, it works with a typical horror, you can recgonise the genre straight away".
Title: Sweat.

Target audience: Young adults.
Enigma: Which out of the two men will succeed and achieve their goal.
Similar narrative: The persuit of happiness. Save the last dance.
